When will this website be ready?
It is ready now.  Please contact us about updating your page.

Will this be a website my kids can visit?
Yes, this will be a family style website that will not include any text or pictures that are not "G" rated.  In rare cases listings will be denied and/or changed so the site can maintain it's rating.

Who will be included on this website?
All businesses, organizations, churches, etc. within the Independence area will be listed.  Once the site is up and running, if you don't see a listing that needs to be on the site you will be able to request the listing be added.  It will be impossible to locate 100% of the listings upfront.

If I run for a political office, will I be able to put a listing on this website?
No, Political Campaigns will be excluded from this website except in the cases where non-political listings for upcoming elections are provided.  We will also be including listings that link to official webisites for those currently in office. 

How much does it cost to get listed on Independence-Kansas.com?
Nothing!!!  Every business, organization, church, etc. within the Independence area will be listed for free.  There wil never be a charge for your listing.  However, you will have an oppurtunity to place ads on the website and there will be a small fee for advertising.

How will my listing get updated?
When the site first starts, very few listings will have any information included.  By request, a Listing Editor will be assigned to each listing.  That person will be able to login and change the listings they have access to.

Does this replace my website?
NO, this website does not replace your website.  It will however offer one more way for others to find your website.

What is the Calendar for?
We see the Calendar as an important feature of the site.  We hope that everyone will use this feature to list events that are going on throughout the community.  If everyone will use keep their part of the calendar current, we will be the only place that you can find a complete calendar for Independence.

Other than the business, organization and church listings, what will you have on the website?
We are planning on this site taking about a year to develop into a fully featured city website.  During that year we will be adding many features.  Some of those features may include job listings, items for sale, garage sales, and photo galleries.  If you have some ideas please email us and we will look at including them.

Will you be displaying advertising on this webiste?
Yes, there will be some advertising but advertising will be kept to a minumum.  It will never dominate a page.  We will never use any type of annoying advertising methods such as popups and popovers and will never install any spyware or adware programs on your computer.  If you recieve popups when coming to this website they are being caused by the previous site you were on or software that is already installed on your computer.
